Purple and Blue Stitch Fix Box (#22) – Style With Tina

January 1, 2017

Purple and Blue Stitch Fix Box

This is my Purple and Blue Stitch Fix Box! Welcome to my fashion show! I have a lot of updates to share with you in this post – so, please bear with me!

Today is my birthday!!! January 1st baby! πŸ™‚ What should I treat myself with?! πŸ˜€

As a Christmas present to myself, I got a tripod for my camera! And not any tripod either, a Vanguard Camera Tripod – Black (Alta Pro 263AB 100)! It’s really sturdy and easy to use.

With a new tripod, I changed my “fashion show” location to our sun room. Isn’t it pretty and blue?! (I designed it myself). Does this new location help you view the clothes better?

Speaking of blue, what do you think of my new web layout and custom logo? I love the blue! Do you sense a theme?!

Here’s what Kate picked out for me for my “Purple and Blue” only themed box!

Before you check out my fashion show, feel free to learn more information about Stitch Fix!

What is Stitch Fix, and how do I sign up/use my referral link?

Purple and Blue Stitch Fix Box

Skies are Blue Breann Dress ($68.00)

This dress was cute and it had pockets!!! I love that it was black and had a v-neck. I just wish it didn’t have the elastic waist band, it’s always a no-no to me! Ugh! I decided to return this.

41Hwathorn Elah Slit Back Lace Detail Pullover ($68.00)

Purple and Blue Stitch Fix Elah Slit Back Lace Detail Pullover

This sweater is a beautiful shade of purple. One of my favorite colors to wear (which is why I requested this fix!). It’s really comfortable, and the lace on the back of the sweater is gorgeous. Having said that, I don’t like slit backs because it enhances my behind. I returned this.

Laju Annabelle Ribbed Detail Open Cardigan ($74.00)

Purple and Blue, Plaid, Stitch Fix AnnabelleRibbedDetail

This is a gorgeous cardigan. I love the purple as you may have already knew. πŸ˜‰ It’s just too long for me (I’m 4’11”), and for 74 dollars, it’s just too much money to invest in to shorten the length. It’s not love. I decided to return this.

Renee C Jerri Polka Dot Pullover Sweater ($64.00)

Purple and Blue Stitch Fix, Jerri Polka Dot

This sweater is so flattering with tiny, cute polka dots. And don’t forget that it’s blue!!! This is perfect for winter and great for layering. This one is love, and I decided to keep it!

Napean Sea Rd Bellucii One Pocket Top ($58.00)

Purple and Blue Stitch Fix, Bellucci One Pocket Top, Plaid

Purple and Blue Stitch Fix, Bellucci One Pocket Top, Plaid

Ahhh, plaid!!! This is a comfortable, pretty shirt. I love the combination of purple and blue. Kate did a great job picking this out. But I didn’t feel like it was me. This shirt screams: “I’m going to go chop down some trees…” I decided to return this. I’m still looking for that classic, plaid shirt, and if you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know in the comments!

Recap:

  1. Skies are Blue, Breann DressReturn.

  2. 41Hawthorn, Elah Slit Back Lace Detail PulloverReturn.

  3. Laju, Annabelle Ribbed Detail Open CardiganReturn.

  4. Renee C, Jerri Polka Dot Pullover SweaterKeep.

  5. Napean Sea Rd, Bellucci One Pocket TopReturn.

Well, there you have it! My Purple and Blue Stitch Fix Box. What did you think of the items in my box? The location? My tripod? Is it better than holding the camera in my hand? Maybe you have a suggestion about my logo or website design? Let me know what you think in the comments – I’m looking forward hearing from you!

Happy Birthday, Tina! How auspicious that it’s on New Year’s Day, too. I wish you a prosperous new year. And I love that you kept the Polka Dot sweater, as it is mg favorite of the lot (and actually, dots/circles are an excellent way of welcoming the new year, as they symbolize abundance, eternity). I actually read your welcome post about Stitch Fix first so I could understand the concept — how convenient!

Thank you very much for the birthday wishes! I’m happy that my SF post helps understand what it’s all about! The polka dot sweater is such a killer! Happy New Year!

  • Reply Thejoysof3boys January 2, 2017 at 10:56 am

Firstly, I LOVE your new layout. The background is stunning and the shade of blue is deep and inviting.

I found myself guessing ‘return’ or ‘keep’ with each item and when I got to the polka dots I crossed my fingers and literally said out loud ‘She better keep it!’ Well thank goodness you did because it is gorgeous and so flattering on you! I’m jealous!

I’ll have to go and check out this Stitch Fix!

Thank you so much!!! I had fun putting this new blog update together – my designer was a great help too! You are so lovely – thank you for the comment about the item I kept! If you have any questions about Stitch Fix, please let me know! Happy New Year! πŸ™‚

Happy new year to you, Tina. It’s a new year, so I guess we can expect this series to reach 40 before the year ends.

I have seen your previous post, and I think the best so far that I have seen, is the one you wore on the first few photos. Serious.

    • Reply Stylewithtina January 4, 2017 at 9:43 pm

Thank you Robert! Your input means a lot to me. πŸ™‚

Thank you Liz! The dress was really cute – I just wasn’t too fond of the material! Happy New Year!

Happy New Year’s Birthday! Of all those clothes I like the open back with lace purple top. it’s such a cool cut! In fact seeing it reminded me that I got one like it last year but now I don’t know where it is!!! It must have been lost in the laundry, that’s where all the clothes disappear to.
    Have a great year!

    • Reply Stylewithtina January 4, 2017 at 9:45 pm

Happy New Year, Orana! Thank you for your comment! I love the purple top, but it just wasn’t me. I hope you find yours!

I agree with your blue polka dot pullover choice, Tina! It’s cute on you. I also like the last one, that plaid actually looks smart on you. I’m new to your site and I must admit I’m guessing on what Stitch Fix is all about. It’s a good service and you’re doing a good review. Hope you had a wonderful birthday celebration!

Thank you for the lovely comments. Have you tried Stitch Fix before?

  • Reply mariaisquixotic January 4, 2017 at 2:24 am

Belated happy birthday!! Your outfit photos are better with the tripod. At least, you won’t get tired of holding the camera and your audience could see the entirety of the dress better. Honestly, I like your banner and the theme. It’s simple and so friendly to the eyes! Maybe next time, try to have a different background when you do your outfit shots and experiment also. πŸ™‚

    • Reply Stylewithtina January 4, 2017 at 9:54 pm

Hello! Thank you so much for your input. You have great insight! (I love your pictures). I will work on experimenting next time with background shooting! Happy New Year!

I miss Stitch Fix. I wish they would get something similar here in Norway. It would make my life so much easier and better. I actually really love some of these items but you never know if you would love them as much on until you try them. Purple is also my favorite color as well!

    • Reply Stylewithtina January 4, 2017 at 9:55 pm

Hi Carrie! That stinks that you don’t have Stitch Fix anymore… SF needs to go international! That should be their next business model. πŸ˜‰ Happy New Year, Carrie!

Happy Birthday! What a wonderful New Year present you are to your parents! It’s good that you got a tripod. Very handy. I like the purple top with lace details at the back. Purple is my favorite color, too. I also liked the plaid top and the dotted sweater. πŸ™‚

Love the top you kept! I’m not a fan of the slit back tops either. I’ve used Stitch Fix several times and really enjoy the process! It’s exciting to pop open those boxes and see what was picked for you! πŸ™‚

I’ve never been high on the style quotient but I guess reading your blog might just help me with helping my wife to pick up and suggest some nice combinations for clothes when we next go for shopping. Just read this post and realized it was your birthday on Jan 1. Belated wishes to you. 1st Jan sounds pretty cool. First day of the year means double celebration πŸ™‚

Wow! Bday on the first of January is so cool. Happy belated one and happy new year.
I love the first dress to be honest then my second fav out is the plaid top cause of how you’ve paired it with the jeans.

First of all, belated Happy birthday. It must be both a blessing and a curse to have your birthday on New Year’s day. You have an instant feast and free fireworks display, but most of your friends will be too busy to celebrate the day with their loved ones. Anyway, the Breann dress reminds me of what’s sold in Forever 21 or H&M and what I’d normally wear. Too bad you had to return it. The waist band actually helps hide our bellies and it looks comfortable.

I have wondered about stitch fix. I am just leery of buying online because sizes vary so much from designer to designer. How have you found the sizing? Does most everything fit?

    • Reply Stylewithtina January 10, 2017 at 11:20 pm

Hi Bobbi! Stitch Fix does vanity sizes, for the most part. And for the most part, the clothes fit me. πŸ™‚ I would go a size down. For instance, if you are a medium everywhere, I would go with a small. If you find that they don’t fit, when you go to check out, you can ask for a size exchange! If you need more help, just let me know! πŸ™‚

  • Reply heatherbquinn January 12, 2017 at 4:18 am

Ha! I get you on the plaid – I felt like a farmer in the plaid shirt I got in my most recent Fix. I think in my next note I’m going to try to specify hipster/boho plaid.
